A UK consultancy has launched a free digital healthcare news app in a move to generate greater awareness and interaction within the fledgling industry.
Led by a serial entrepreneur and a leading life sciences expert, D Health’s goal is to accelerate growth in the digital healthcare sector, which it believes is vital to delivering sustainable health and care services for the future.
The D Health App generates a live newsfeed based on the reader’s position in the supply chain using the web’s most reputable sources. This enables professionals such as GPs, investors and developers to stay informed of the latest and most relevant sector news.
Dr Steven Dodsworth, CEO at D Health commented: “Digital healthcare incorporates so many market segments - telemedicine, telehealth, telecare, E-Health, M-Health, Health IT, Assisted Living – it’s nearly impossible to keep up with the industry’s news.
“This is a problem as it means that those involved in the supply chain struggle to keep on top of the latest issues affecting their industry. Despite projections, the digital healthcare market isn’t growing as rapidly as it should be, and we believe collaboration between the various supply chain groups is key to ensuring digital healthcare delivers the benefits it’s capable of.
“The D Health App is a first step towards building wider awareness and creating links between the various players in the sector. The more users it has the more content it will generate, so we look forward to seeing it grow into a leading hub for industry news.”
The App was developed by content curation software specialists Better Than Paper. Managing director Ashwin Saddul commented: “Created using our innovative publishing tool, The D-Heath App has been designed to build and empower a digital community around the core issues facing the healthcare sector. It provides easy access to the latest industry news and thought leadership whilst being integrated with social media tools. This will enable D-Health to increase awareness of issues, ideas and relevant opportunities for operators in the digital healthcare market.”
