One of America's leading digital health entrepreneurs has released a scathing article in the Huffington Post on the status of digital health: https://lnkd.in/dtSmkaz. Given the level of investment in the US digital health sector, this may come as a surprise to many.
But this is old news. Over a year ago D Health held a workshop in London with 40 leaders from across Europe to discuss what was wrong with the market. You can find a summary here https://bit.ly/1r9Eze4 - it's called "the broken report" - the clue is in the title.
It was important to cut through the hype of the time to understand the dynamics of the industry. With close to 1,000 face to face meetings in the sector this year already, the D Health team has developed a deep understanding of the market and we see opportunities for growth in a number of market segments including medtech and consumer (but don't get too excited by wearables or the i-phone 6 health app).
As in any industry, it is those with the best insight, intelligence and foresight that prosper. D Health has become the leader in its field.
The insight report "A strategic review of digital health" was published in January 2014 as we felt one chapter was closing and another about to open. The research for this report is now 18 months old but we now know, with hindsight, that it's predictions and conclusions are almost 100% accurate.
We are about to release our next insight report "Digital health 2015 - 2020" which explores the challenges and opportunities of this critical period in healthcare: https://bit.ly/1wafX5g
There is some room for optimism...
